§11.2 Structure & integration

One central command at the top, but the units are embedded across the existing service branches.

Open §11.2 in the academy

The BSV combines a central head with embedded units. Headquarters directs development, equipping, training and employment at the strategic level; at the operational and tactical levels, drone staff sections sit within the other services' commands, army and corps staffs (UAV departments) down to divisions and brigades.

Integration by service

Why this is both clever and risky

The matrix design — develop centrally, embed decentrally — spreads drone expertise across the whole force. But it also places a heavy load on the officer cadre: a district regiment has a strikingly high officer-to-enlisted ratio, further straining an already tight officer corps.
