§11.5 Equipment & the DKO concept

From cheap FPV copters to Geran strike drones — and a doctrinal framework that sees drones, EW and cyber as one 'shield and sword'.

Open §11.5 in the academy

The BSV inventory (shown among others at the 2025 Victory Day parade) spans the whole drone chain:

RoleSystems
Long-range one-way attackGarpiya-A1, Geran-2 (see threat library)
Reconnaissance (ISR)Orlan-10, Orlan-30
Loitering munitionsLancet (Izdeliye-51 / -52)
Short-range / tacticalFPV multirotors, fixed-wing; ZALA-type crews dominate small-scale employment

DKO — remote-cybernetic weapons

The doctrinal framework around the BSV is the concept of DKO (distantsionno-kiberneticheskoe oruzhie, "remote-cybernetic weapon") — described as the "shield and sword" of the new branch. It binds three things that sit separately on the other sites: the drone (the platform), the EW layer (protection and jamming) and the cyber/data-link dimension. The idea: unmanned systems are not merely little aircraft, but nodes in a networked reconnaissance-strike whole.
